The ‘reading’ icon has a pen/paper, while the ‘editing’ icon is an open book.!
Am I missing something here??
Do we not edit with a pen and paper, and read an open book?
What am I misunderstanding here, or did I somehow mix the two icons in my setting up off Obsidian?
The icon shows the mode the button will switch to, not the current mode. Is that what you see?
Yes, I see now how it works…my bad. Although it does seem a bit counterintuitive.

Think of it as a button or link — those normally say what they will do or where they will go (for example, you have a “save” button, not an “unsaved” button).
