I would like to improve the effectiveness of the links

Hello, I’m new to the application, but after exploring a bit, I didn’t find much discussion about improving the way notes are linked. I believe that for a more optimized environment, we should have the ability to customize different types of links and how nodes appear in graph view.

For example, I think that a node should appear larger if it’s a “folder note” with many children or nested children (like a subject). To achieve this, I could create a “contains” link type and specify that it should be a strong link. Each chain of “contains” links would then add to the node’s size.

On the other hand, a “refers” link could be a weak link and shouldn’t contribute to the node’s dimension, or it would have less of an impact.

I know this is a big idea, but I’m really passionate about finding the sharpest way to learn and organize data in a way that fits each user’s needs.

I’ve built a plugin to add features to the graph view, among which some ways to compute node sizes differently. So I have the setup to make this happen, I just don’t have the exact algorithm for this use case.
Can you provide a little more details, maybe with examples, about what you have in mind? How would a chain of “contains” links impact the node size? +1 per chain? +1 per link in the chain? same weight for each link or furthest links get weaker? etc.
