How to locate placeholder notes

I am new to Obsidian and loving it. It’s the tool I’ve been looking for.

Key to my happy and furious writing process is the making of placeholders. I love that I can do that and not lose the train of thought.

However they do not show up in a search.

Is there a way for search to only deliver results on uncreated placeholder files?

Thanks, Brad

Hi @bradsayers!

I guess by “placeholders” you mean links to pages that don’t exist yet?

I don’t know of any way to search for unresolved links using core Obisidian.

However, there’s a plugin that does it very well. You can find it in the Community Plugins section called “Find unlinked files and unresolved links”, or on GitHub at Vinzent03/find-unlinked-files. I use the plugin regularly and find it very helpful.

You can search uncreated files with the Quick Switcher core plugin (which is enabled by default). There is a setting to exclude those from it, but that’s off by default.
