How to find and replace a tag in all documents/vault

What I’m trying to do

Having synced my Obsidian wth highlights from readwise, I know have tags from those highlights in Obsdiain, many thousands of “orange”, “pink” etc in a few hundred text documents. I went to do a search all and replace/delete in Obsdiain tags and was surprised this does not exist.

Things I have tried

I have searched the forums for a fix and not found anything that seems to work. Atom is shuttered, and the working version does not seem to work for a find all and replace. Regex does not seem to work either.

Obsidian graph view is unusable for me at present until I can get rid of these tags, as they dominate my files and graph view. Has anyone found a way to find and replace a tag? Thank you.

If a plugin like https://github.com/MahmoudFawzyKhalil/obsidian-global-search-and-replace doesn’t work, then an app like Sublime Text or VScode should be able to take care of it.

Make a backup first with whatever you do!

Search for “grepwin” in this forum. It’s a little freeware. Someone (I’m one of them) uses it with Obsidian and search and replace is easy and fast with that
