How to export a vault with plugins used and edited and customised to use on another device

What I’m trying to do

I have a vault with many plugins customised and edited and want to try to export a vailt with ALL plugins and ALL data in the vault to use on another device

Things I have tried

I tried looking through files to check out what i can’t do.

This is classic sync territory.

Git can by used to sync but it’s not called upload and download there.

so how do i 1) sync all the files and customised plugins 2) on github? and 3) will it be private?

You can set the vault/repo to private but Microsoft will potentially see your content.
Your other option is Obsidian Sync.

There are tons of threads on this.

i apologise but i was inmplying to go to the source folder of the obsidian on the device and asking if plugins would be transfered after i copied the source files, not doing syncs to like git hub

If you go into your computer’s file system and find your Obsidian vault, you’ll find a folder called .obsidian which contains all the plugins and configurations. If you can’t see .obsidian it’s still there, it’s just hidden. If you’re on Windows I think you can right click and select something like “show hidden folders”. Anyway if you just copy the entire vault in the file system, you can move the whole thing and that’ll bring the configuration files too.

Depends on the other “device”.
If you tell us your type of device, we (someone) can be of more service.

I used different kinds of local sync to iPadOS for instance. Actually, you can use ’ X-plore File Manager’ on Android (better make a zip of what you want to transfer and unzip on the destination device).

If it’s another PC, use a pendrive/external hard drive.
