How to exit Vim like editing mode!

I wrote a big document and now I am reviewing the document for typos, I found a few! but when I start editing them, the word adjacent to the line that I am editing starts to shrink inwards. I think this is what happens in vim, I need to fix this to continue working. thanks.

Settings → Editor → Vim Key bindings → Off
