There is no one method fits all solution or one tutorial will address all solution for this.
It takes the average Obsidian user 6-24 or more months to go through the process of customizing their vaults, adding various functionality, honing the look and feel, etc.
Why not look at some demo vaults and analyze them, build on top of one that you like…?
I recently mentioned one:
Which is part of a thread:
I actually mentioned that SoRobby vault half a dozen times. Not because I particularly like the look but the functionality that takes care of all levels:
1. query level (Dashboards), 2. note level (notes with metadata) and 3. template level (that would make the notes to be queried)
Look at what plugins are installed and enabled and from the readme page, how the structure is organized.
As I also mentioned a few times here and there that he has Buttons plugin buttons in the dashboards which you may have to change for Meta Bind plugin buttons for the long run as Buttons is a discontinued plugin.
Obsidian is highly customizable and works best if users “code around” in it. If they are unable to do so or unsure where to start, they are better off using/building their notes upon an existing vault and once they understand what it does at certain levels, they can remove the author-added placeholder material.
Over time, you can hone your Templater/query skills, new Obsidian core plugins will be introduced that takes the coding out of the equation, etc.
Good luck
