How to distinguish links between folders?

What I’m trying to do

Ideally, I’d like to provide folder notes with views that show:

  1. Any external files that link to files in that folder
  2. Any files in the folder that link to external files

Alternatively, is there a way to use CSS to distinguish links that point to a different folder?

Views where? Are you referring to the graph view?

Or “folder notes”, as in the plugin?

And can you describe a bit more what you imagine it would look like if they were distinguished? For example, in the graph, folders might have separate grouped clusters or something? Or colors?

That might help people offer better suggestions or alternatives.
