How to Change Default File Manager on Android After Removing Stock App?

What I’m trying to do
I am trying to sync my Obsidian notes between my Windows computer and my Android phone using Google Drive. However, on my Android device, I cannot set the folder path to Google Drive because the file manager that opens is not the one I want to use (Solid Explorer). Instead, another file manager opens, and I cannot find an option to select Google Drive folders. I would like to know how to make Solid Explorer the default file manager for this purpose.

Things I have tried

  • I searched the Obsidian help documentation and forums but couldn’t find a solution specific to this issue.
  • I tried clearing the default settings of the existing file manager through Android settings, but it didn’t work.
  • I also installed Solid Explorer and verified it can access Google Drive folders, but Obsidian doesn’t allow me to select it as the file manager.

I used Dropbox as my cloud storage instead of Google Drive and utilized the Dropsync app to sync the folders. Dropsync allowed me to select the Dropsync folder as the vault directory, which made it possible to successfully sync my notes between the two devices.
