How do you escape a '< ' character in templater?

Adding a dummy ‘>’

What I’m trying to do

Have my text in a templater template not become multicoloured following insertion of a ‘<’ character. For example, achieve this when I use ‘>’ to query magnitude.

Obsidian seems to be trying to render it according to HTML standards.
