Every few days, my hotkeys get gradually reset and I don’t know what’s happening. For instance, I have CMD + K for Better Command Palette, CTRL + D to cycle through checkbox states, and CMD + \ to toggle a sidebar. Suddenly one will not work, then an hour or so later CMD + K goes back to inserting a markdown link, and before you know it my hotkeys are reset.
I don’t recall anything like this happening for me on macOS or Windows going back multiple Obsidian versions.
Where is your vault location on disk? Is it in a sync service folder (iCloud Drive, One Drive, etc.) or a folder watched by a sync service (typically Desktop and Documents)?
If so, it’s possible the sync service is removing the hotkey settings file ( {VAULT}/.obsidian/hotkeys.json ), there are conflicts from another device, etc. Something to investigate.
If you are on macOS, under System Settings > AppleID > iCloud make sure that “Optimize Mac Storage” is turned OFF. If that’s on, iCloud Drive may remove files (including settings files) arbitrarily from your local disk which can cause all sorts of issues. We don’t know if that’s the case here, but it could be.
