Help Newbie Find Vault

I spent a substantial amount of time getting started with Obsidian by creating my first vault, folder, and notes. Also, I downloaded a bunch of plugins and worked on personally customizing my Obsidian Interface. I then restarted my computer, because, apparently, certain plugins required a restart. However, after I restarted my computer and then opened Obsidian, none of my vaults, folders, notes, and/or plugins appear. I’m using Windows 11.

What I’m trying to do

I’m trying to simply open and find my vault (along with all of of the personalized plugins and customizations) upon clicking the Obsidian Icon.

Things I have tried

Generally, I have tried to find the vault through the manage vaults feature to no avail.

Please help!

All of your plugins/settings and such should be saved within the directory you set as your vault within hidden folders.

Its just about finding where that directory is and that is something that I cant picture anyone on this forum being able to help you with

If you remember the name you set the directory to…my advice would be to do a search over all directories in file explorer. It may take a while, but it will get there eventually. Also check any network drives/ cloud drives that windows is connected to.

Adding to what bigChuz said, you can use Windows File Explorer (or another search tool) to search for a collection of .md files (Markdown files). The folder all of those files are in is most likely your vault. For example:

.
└── VAULT-NAME/
    ├── .obsidian/
    ├── Folder1/
    ├── note1.md
    ├── Math.md
    ├── Business.md
    ├── recipie-list.md
    ├── ...
    └── ...

You then use the vault switcher’s (Manage vaults…) → Open folder as vault option and choose the VAULT-NAME folder (in this case).
