Have notes URLs suddenly got a new syntax?

Hello everyone,

For my current project, I am copying notes URLs from Obsidian using the command in the menu at the top right of the notes and pasting them as links into Excel cells. Until now, when I clicked on that link, I was redirected to Obsidian and everything went fine.

Todas suddenly this method does not work anymore.

What I’m trying to do

I looked at the link syntax and noticed that Obsidian seems to have changed it sometime in the last few days.

Here is an example for the exact same note, first the “old” URL generated a few days ago and the one generated today:

obsidian://open/?vault=Obsidian%20Vault&file=Cherubini%2FQuellennotizen%2F743098638441
obsidian://open?vault=Cherubini&file=Cherubini%2FQuellennotizen%2F743098638441

Things I have tried

I have searched the forum and googled for solutions without success.

I would really appreciate it if you could take a look at this problem. What am I missing?

Thank you in advance,

Vivian

PS: By the way, Obsidian is such a great app that is radically changing my life and the way I teach and research. Compliments to you guys, simply brilliant!

I see that my question doesn’t seem to be stirring things up, but unfortunately an answer is essential for me to continue working. So dear community, please give me an answer. Thank you! :grinning:

In return, I’ll simplify my question to: Can I assume that the syntax of the URL in Obsidian will remain as it is today in the near future, or is this something inherent to the philosophy of this software, that with every update everything can be called into question?

Why are the Obsidian note links I copied into Excel no longer redirecting properly, and how can I update them to work with the new URL syntax?

Did you rename your vault from Obsidian Vault to Cherubini?

The “old” syntax looks strange. The slash after open doesn’t make sense. How did you create the URI back then? Or maybe devs fixed a bug.
