Graph view not connecting

Hey, I’m trying to figure out why my graph view isn’t working properly.

I’ve created a note called “Walter Benjamin Lecture” so that I could see all of my lecture notes connected to the note, but when actually make a link it loads up a new directory in the graph view.

When I try to click the link from the “Walter Benjamin Lecture” it does not go to the “Walter Benjamin Lecture #1,” but rather ends up creating a new page. Can anyone help me figure this out? Has been driving me crazy for two days.

Okay so I’ve been trying different stuff, and somehow I figured it out by deleting every hashtag from the title and this somehow worked out.

Can anyone explain me why is was the problem so that I won’t make any more mistakes?
