Generating New Ideas with the Graph View

Hi everyone,

I have a question for you all: How do you use the graph view for creative thinking?

I have this belief that it’s possible to generate genuinely new ideas by connecting notes according to a specific set of rules

Is this approach meaningless? I’m worried that a method like this ultimately just ends up connecting everything to everything else, creating noise instead of insight.

What do you think? Is this a valid way to spark new ideas, or am I on a path to just connecting everything?

If you have some rules in mind that you want help shaping, could you please start by sharing what they are? That might give people a better starting point for helping you. If you are just going to post more pictures of empty circles, unfortunately this topic will be flagged and closed.

It would be great to have some visual effects that make it easier to create the graph as shown in my drawing

I am requesting a feature that provides pre-suggestions (or proactive hints) for the triangle and square connection patterns shown in my diagram…

The graph is just for display of notes. If you want to create common nodes for A, B, and then C, you need to install plugins (Graph Analysis – unrelated to built-in graph), some semantic searcher AI tool, whatever. The core graph plugin is for displaying what you linked up. It has no functionality and will never have functionality that you want.
There may be auto-linkers of notes but I would never use them.

I believe this plugin may be what you’re looking for:
