What I’m trying to do
I have a problem where for every note under one particular folder, every internal link displays as a full path i.e. instead of [[Snake]] I get [[Project/Animals/Snake]]
I think the problem is rooted in when I once accidentally duplicated the folder and it’s contents, and so it specified the internal links due to their being multiple of the same name.
From what I understand it’s functionally what they’re referring to in the thread “How can I stop displaying paths in internal links?” Dec 2022 (can’t link), except I don’t know the best way to revert it back.
I deleted the duplicates but it every linked instance in previous linked notes still got retroactively elongated to the full path. I am not sure but I feel like even the instances I’ve corrected it, it sometimes reverts back.
What I am trying to do is not have to manually backtrack through every note and internal link and shorten them back down to just the note title link/fix whatever is making this a persistent feature of my vault.
Things I have tried
Deleted the duplicates
Absolute path in vault is on
I want to try a few things, moving things about or rebuilding vault cache, but I really don’t want to mess with the integrity of this vault I’ve had for a long time and break all my links, so I have just been living with unreadable notes! So any advice on the least destructive way to move things around and fix this would be appreciated.
