Use case or problem
The callout block can include its own Markdown syntax i.e. essentially feel like nested Markdown. At the moment, the way they are displayed; however, appears to be inconsistent.
For example, highlights and bold syntax receive live editor treatment just like they do outside of the callout section. However, other elements, such as bullet points and headers, won’t render until we leave the callout section.
Proposed solution

Please provide WYSIWYG treatment for the callout block itself, meaning that the section background color and header should remain visible as they appear in the final display view, even when we focus on the section, similar to the table editing tool.

The content area should be treated as rest of live editor text handling.
Related feature requests (optional)
While this is specific to callout and not a request for full WYSIWYG, if Obsidian ends up offering a complete WYSIWYG mode as requested here, it could solve my feature request at the same time. Fully visual editor mode (WYSIWYG / WYSWYG)
