Frequent Crashes in Obsidian on M1 MacBook with Large Files

I’m experiencing frequent crashes with Obsidian when working on large files. I’m using an M1 MacBook and dealing with a file that has around 24,000 lines. The document includes numerous code blocks for Python, mermaidJS, and a substantial amount of LaTeX. Even after disabling all community plugins and CSS snippets, the problem persists. When I’m working with a smaller file, I don’t encounter this issue.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Open large file.
  2. Append 2 - 10 lines.
  3. App crashes.

Custom theme and snippets: for cosmetic issues, please first try updating your theme and disabling your snippets. If still not fixed, please try to make the issue happen in the Sandbox Vault or disable community theme and snippets.

NOTE: All of my CSS snipped are disabled, but the debug info shows enabled as 8.

Additional information

attach or dm me a copy of the file.

@WhiteNoise DM sent.

It’s not crashing for me in the sandbox vault.

The file is very big, you may consider breaking it down for ease of editing and speed.

@WhiteNoise I opened the file in the sandbox, and it seems stable without crashing. The debug info indicates that 8 snippets are still enabled despite disabling them. I’m wondering if there could be factors other than plugins and CSS snippets impacting performance. For the time being, I’ll consider breaking the file to address the issue.
