I’m mostly asking this out of curiosity, as this is now the third time at least that I have signed up for a website and it has randomly pulled the Detaille painting of General Lasalle as my profile picture, and it has sparked all sorts of humour-induced conspiracy theories in my friend group.
It all started when I signed up for a website called Kuula as part of a volunteering project I was doing. I signed up with my non-personal email (same as the one I used for this forum), and magically it assigned me that as my profile picture without me ever selecting it. It’s a website used to create digital tours of places (usually real estate, but I use it for 360 tours of churches).
I don’t actually remember what the second website was, but it also magically assigned me this as a profile picture.
And now today I sign up for the Obsidian forums with my email, and boom, like magic, there’s the painting again. At this point I simply couldn’t resist asking where is it coming from? What is my email apparently linked to that is causing all these places to pull this painting as my profile picture by default. It’s not even that annoying, I just want to put the reincarnation accusations to bed. And maybe so I can change the picture on whatever service it’s synchronising with to one that’s not a guy who’s been dead for 216 years.
Kind regards,
Not Charles Lasalle, and I promise he’s not possessing my body as a vessel either. That I’m aware of.
