I have been working with long research type documents with lots of footnotes and I found reading, editing the documents and constantly needing to scroll down to the end of the doc to see the footnotes very tiresome, so I created a plugin with Claude to extract and summarise all the footnotes in a side-panel, where I can see and edit them with click links back to their position in the document. It is not a published plugin so you will have to install it manually or use BRAT.
