Steps to reproduce

Create a Footnote [^1]
[1: ] Fill in the details

Expected result

Footnote Should appear in the reading view.

Actual result

Something like this appears instead:
Footnote1

Seems like you forgot the caret (^) in the second part.

Create a Footnote [1:1]
