Folder went missing and is not in trash

What I’m trying to do

A giant folder with multiple sub-folders and notes is suddenly missing from a vault and I’m trying to get it back.

Things I have tried

My preferences indicate that deleted files should move to my system’s trash, and while old deleted obsidian files appear there, the folder I need that disappeared without me deleting it does not. I also do not sync obsidian; the only platform I use it on is my laptop

After scouring my entire computer for it, I found the file strangely in my downloads folder. Not sure if that’s a bug anyone else has experienced? None of my other deleted files were there, not that I deleted that folder to begin with.
