If it’s intentional behaviour, it’s fine so long as I can disable expanding folders on mouse hover, but research suggests that no such setting exists.

The solution from my point of view is either:

  • Mouse hovers do not expand a folder if the mouse is no longer hovered over it after the action delay, or
  • If that’s intended behaviour, a setting exists to disable expanding folders on mouse hover

Simply hovering over a folder should not expand it, even if the mouse is right over the folder.

Are you sure you are not clicking?!?

Well now I wish I got a video recording, since it no longer seems to be occurring. But yes, I definitely was not clicking yesterday, and hovering for a second over a folder did expand it.

I’ve tried a few times in the last few hours and it’s not occurring anymore. Perhaps updating some other packages on my machine fixed … wherever this bug was triggered. But it seems not to be an issue with Obsidian.

I’m happy for this to be closed off now. Thanks!
