Fold/unfold headings / callouts / etc in popup preview without triggering edit mode

Steps to reproduce

  1. Go to a note with headings

  2. Hover the tab using ⌘ or Ctrl (see screenshot below)

  3. Hover a heading, fold button appears

  4. Press the fold button

Did you follow the troubleshooting guide? [Y/N]

Yes

Expected result

The heading should fold, similar to folding callouts or lists in page preview.

Actual result

Editing mode in page preview is triggered. If I press the fold button again in the editing mode, the page preview is closed.

Additional information

This post is basically detailed description of this FR:

However the page preview doesn’t close with a mouse click anymore—instead it will trigger the editing mode. You can also fold/unfold lists and callouts fine without editing mode triggering. Only folding/unfolding headings doesn’t work as expected, hence this post.

It needs to make sure that by clicking on the expand button in hover preview → callout expands, but not the preview window does close.

In general, I want an option to exit the preview only with the leaving of mouse or the pressing of esc key and/or by the cross at the top right of the window.

It is useful to click links, save/delete information from the window in preview

The Hover Editor community plugin might do what you want. (I’m not totally sure because I don’t use page previews myself.)

Hi. This issue was mentioned in Reddit. I personally think being able to unfold headings in page preview would be really helpful. Headings will unfold when clicked but as reported in this feature request, the click closes the preview.
