Use case or problem
Today (2025-05-06), the default “files” plugin isn’t intuitive for taking notes (default logic and design) and doesn’t have a lot of features that should be available by default. While as an FILE EXPLORER is working as is has to do but not as an easy navigator inside obsidian.
- Is not intuitive to take notes(fast and easy): here is simple, i love the notion concept of page that can have pages inside and this pages have another sub-pages. With that you have a clear hierarchy that build itself at the same time as you create sub-pages.
Proposer solution(s)
- Modify the files plugin that he render based on outgoing links which is similar to notion sub-pages.
- This default features aren’t available by default: Pin file, Pin folder (for pin file and folder you can even pin only the icon and not the name of the file which will save screen space), Hierarchy auto reconstruction based on links updates.
