What I’m trying to do

I’m trying to sign in to my account from the Desktop App from Arch/Extra

Things I have tried

My 2FA one time codes work on the website but do not work in the desktop app.
I have 2 Yubikeys that work while signing in to this website.
The website also takes my 2FA one time code when I bypass the Yubikey Method
I have deleted my 2 Yubikeys from my profile and the 2FA one time code still does not work in the desktop app
The Desktop app truncates a recovery code to 6 digits and gives a error saying that the 2FA one time code needs 6 digits

Is signing in through the desktop app with 2FA broken?

I don’t think we support what you are trying to do. The only 2fa method we support is with apps like Google authenticator and similar .(TOTP not FIDO).

When you say “this website” do you mean obsidian.md or forum.obsidian.md?

Your community forum account is unrelated to your Obsidian account. Your Obsidian account would be created on the main obsidian.md website. Not here on this forum.

OK, I thought the credentials I’ve used for the forum were for my main account also. I thought I’ve used these to login to the mobile and desktop apps before but I guess not.

I have my password changed now for my main account and I no longer have the 2FA or recover codes for the main account.

How do we remedy this? I have a Catalyst for early builds, etc. which isn’t really that important to me but I’d like to square this away

Thanks, I understand. I’d forgotten there was another account on obsidian.md that I used to get Catalyst
