I on and off encounter the situation that I cannot switch notes after launching Obsidian. This issue could be gone after enabling the Restricted Mode of the community add-on. After switching the Restricted Mode several times, the issue could be gone for a period of time if I am lucky but it could re-happen suddenly.
I’ve uninstalled most of the community add-on and only keep 5 to 6 the most popular one. I tried to switch different themes but it won’t help.
Questions:
Any other direction I should try?
Any debug mode that I could turn on so that more failure info could be collected
Basic info
OS that I am running: MacOS Sonoma 14.6.1
Obsidian: v.1.6.7
Number of notes: Around 1,000
Installed community add-on: Dataview, Omnisearch, Text Extractor, Outliner, Tag Wrangler (all of them are the latest version)
Is there any way (e.g. enabling the debuy mode) I could use to locate which community add-on causes the problem? I could turn on the feature to tell me how much time required to load the community add-on. Apart from it, is there any method to show more details on abnormality?
There’s no guarentee anything will show, but you could check the Console tab of the developer tools:
To access the developer console to look for console errors, you can use the following keyboard combinations: Windows : CTRL + SHIFT + i MacOS : CMD + OPTION + i Linux : CTRL + SHIFT + i
I did find an error message from Omnisearch when it did the indexing of a canvas. I now delete that canvas. Let’s see whether the issue will be gone or not.
