External Bible app link opened as sub-process in Android

Steps to reproduce

  1. Open bible.com link.
  2. Wait for YouVersion (Bible) App to open.
  3. Open Android App Switcher.

Expected result

In the app switcher, Obsidian and YouVersion are shown as separate apps, with the Obsidian logo on top of a screenshot of Obsidian, and a YouVersion logo on top of a screenshot of YouVersion.

Actual result

In the app switcher, Obsidian and YouVersion are combined, with the Obsidian logo on top of a screenshot of YouVersion.

Environment

  • Android 14
  • Obsidian 1.8.7 (191)
  • YouVersion (Bible) 10.21.0

Additional information

When I open a YouVersion link in the Android version of Obsidian, it opens YouVersion as a sub-process of Obsidian. This mean means that if I was to switch back to my Obsidian notes, I have to close YouVersion. I can’t use the app switcher to switch between the two apps. The same thing happens when I when I long-press a YouVersion link, and select “Open link in default browser.” This doesn’t happen with other apps that are associated with certain web domains, like Wikipedia, Spotify, or YouTube.

I am not sure what to tell. We do not do any special handling of youversion. Everything is handled the same as spotify, wikipedia and so on.
