Excalidraw - integration for Draw.io with diagrams-plugin does not work at all

What I’m trying to do

try creating a draw.io diagram in excalidraw with the ‘diagram’ plugin

Things I have tried

Installation performed as Zsolt explains in his video (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DJcosmN-q2s)
Tried all options of diagram-plugging (Full, compact, sketch) → result remains the same.

What do I get as a result: in excalidraw ‘create DrawIO file’ → can give a name in the pop-up menu but no new file is created with the entered name. Instead a new untitled tab is generated. That’s it, nothing else, no connection to Draw.io.

How can this be solved?
