Enhance Block Links with Note Context Visibility

Currently, block links ([[note#^block]]) only display the exact anchored block when clicked. It would be excellent if there was a feature (or plugin) that allows users to expand the view to include surrounding lines or headings for better context, just as it’s already possible to do through tag search.

Links to headings also allow the entire context of that heading to be viewed, but it is not always feasible to use them since, often, the heading may be enormous and you only wanted to quickly see one or a few blocks above or below, which, by the way, may not be within that heading.

If this functionality already exists or if there is some plugin that fulfills this role, I apologize and would greatly appreciate it if you could point me in the right direction on how to use it.

If not, I believe this would be a fantastic tool for users because, in the worst-case scenario, if the user is not interested in expanding the display of links beyond the specific block, they could simply leave the feature or plugin disabled.

Thanks.

Concur. I use block links a lot to link back to specific parts of notes, e.g., when using the community plugin Tasks. And it would improve my workflow tremendously… optionally I could see use with the hover editor plugin, but it is somewhat glitchy on my end. Usually in longer notes I will use block ids + make a checkbox (thus rendering in a Tasks query), so additional context can be helpful in said-query. Hope that makes sense.
