"End" / "Home" keys don't work while editing properties

Once you’ve done the above, delete everything above this line.

Steps to reproduce

  1. New file
  2. Add property with command pallete (Any property name)
  3. Click to type a value
  4. Shift the focus away from the text field
  5. Click back to edit the value of the text field
  6. Try “Home” and “End”

Keys does not work (in the preview mode)

If you are writing the property name the first time and hit “tab” or click to focus on property value field as you write the property value for the first time the keys seems to work. Once you shift the focus away and come back to the text field it stops working.

Did you follow the troubleshooting guide? [Y/N]

Yes! I did in the sandbox vault.

Expected result

I expect the cursor to go to the end of the property value when the “End” key is pressed.
I expect the cursor to go to the start of the property value when the “Home” key is pressed.

Actual result

The cursor does not move.

Additional information

Some things I tried:

If you hold “shift” and press “End” or “Home” they seem to work consistently.

I hope I did everything correctly to report the bug. Thanks for Obsidian! You are awesome.

I can’t reproduce and I am not sure I understand you.

Post a screen recording of this happening in the sandbox vault.

Hello there!

Thanks for replying so quiclky.

Sorry it took me a while to make a screencast.

Here it is. I hope it helps clarify.

When the suggestion box is visible, the Home and End keys are actually controlling the list of suggestions. So “Home” will focus the first element in the list and the “End” key will focus the last item in the list. In your screen recording, this is a bit hard to tell since your input only has one suggestion available. This behavior is not unique to properties and happens anywhere in the app when the suggestion box is visible.

Oh. Ok. I haven’t thougth of that.

Thanks for the quick reply!
