Currently obsidian always retains the cursor position after it loses focus. This is usually convenient, but can be problematic with dropdowns. For example changing a property value, or writing something into the vault search, will show a big dropdown. When you unfocus obsidian this dropdown will be hidden. Now when you focus obsidian again by clicking where the dropdown was it will select an entry from it. This is especially confusing because obsidian will still show highlights when you hover over eg. other properties, implying you will be able to click on them, but instead the dropdown will receive the click.
To solve this I would suggest to either lose focus in these input fields when going out of obsidian or to keep showing the dropdowns even when unfocused.
Steps to reproduce
- Open any input field that shows a dropdown
- Unfocus obsidian by going to some other program
- Refocus obsidian by clicking where the dropdown was before
- A value from the dropdown will be selected instead of whatever was actually shown
