What I’m trying to do
I’m trying to sync my Obsidian vault with my iPhone. My Obsidian vault sits in a Google Drive folder that is integrated with about a dozen different connections so that MCPs are driving content concisely and accurately to the Google Drive folder.
My data and the Claude automations that route my data sources all deliver to a vault that is a Google Drive folder. My strong preference is not to keep a physical duplicate copy of content on my (storage limited) hard drive and this would cost ~90GB of duplicative storage related to the Obsidian folder. I also have no interest in moving this to iCloud (with all the time I’ve spent creating data integrations to the Google-based vault). Is there not a way to use a middleware connector (Obsidian Sync) to connect my Google Vault to my iPhone?
Things I have tried
I’ve read the help files. I’ve read several of the posts in this forum. And I’ve asked two frontier LLMs to read the available information to help me understand it. I find it impossible to believe that I can’t connect an Obsidian vault in Google Drive with Obsidian’s Sync application that will sync it to an Obsidian surface on my iPhone, though most of the materials clearly state that it’s simply not an option.
