Double-click to switch from reading view to editor

since this will never make it as a feature in obsidian and I couldnt find any other ways, I was wondering if a plugin is possible:

is there a way for a plugin which allows to switch from reading view to the editor by double-clicking on the text or somewhere inside the note?

Thanks

Sounds like live preview with extra steps. Using the keyboard shortcuts to change mode might be enough.

Well yes, I’m slowly getting used to the shortcut. But it seems more natural for me and even a. It faster to just double-click.

I also like to have all notes in reading-mode by default. I have this extension that automatically switches all notes to reading-mode.

+1, would love to see this as a plugin or feature. The placement of the mobile toggle is way up there, and even if desktop’s worries can be mitigated with hotkeys, it’s still quite intuitive to doubletap or hold to switch modes.

For now, I use a floating action button snippet I found here on the forum.

Totally +1 : double click (or some key + click) in preview mode would both switch to edit mode and position the cursor where the user has clicked. I would use that all the time.

I don’t use Live Preview because if doesn’t work well with my notes, and when switching from Preview to Edit, the changes in the layout sometimes make it difficult to locate the line where I wanted to write.
