I want there to be a text buffer on the side panel where I can input text, wherein every press of the enter key should be registered as a trigger to insert the text in the active note with a line break.
I don’t believe there is because your request is so specific. You can use QuickAdd’s capture choices to input content to active note.
This is different to your request in so that the input box is opened by a request (keyboard shortcut etc) rather than remaining visible in the side. However you can place custom actions to ribbon using Commander. These custom actions include QuickAdd choices when you activate the lightning icon:

I use slash commands to call/insert template snippets into my notes. I find this method to be super useful for quote call-outs or headings or inserting a block/snippet of text
