Does the Kanban plugin have Dataview support?

What I’m trying to do

Create a kanban view from dataview queries.

Things I have tried

The kanban plugin is listed under the “Friends of Dataview” in the DataView docs, but nothing is mentioned in the Kanban docs (at least that I could see). I also took a look at the DataView roadmap and Kanban is listed there, but a bit far out.

So TL;DR is this supported or is there an error in the DataView docs?

As far as I understand, more mutual support of the two plugins are planned but not yet implemented → see here. As the dataview plugin is currently completely reworked (successor: datacore), you probably have to wait for a stable relase of datacore.

If, for now, you prefer to build a kanban board with dataview instead of the kanban plugin (with the advantage of automatically updating boards), have a look at this video:
