Does Homepage plugin work with templater?

Hi!
Does anyone know if the Homepage plugin works with Templater? Would it run a Templater code every time the homepage is opened?
I tried but it didn’t work. (maybe I’m doing something wrong?)

I guess it won’t.
As far as I understand templater, it only does what it does once when a new note is created, not an existing one (be it the homepage) is opened.

i want to have a dashboard with an embedded daily note. so each day the note shown in the dashboard would be different
