Use case or problem
You can set an alias to be the same exact text as the filename, but you can’t set an alias to be the same as a different alias on that file.
Proposed solution
Disallow aliases that are the same as the filename since it causes some issues with suggestions in the outgoing links panel.

This is a feature request, not help.
test.md can have “test” set as on of the aliases. Obsidian currently doesn’t allow you to set “test” twice in the aliases, but does allow this.
Oh, this part isn’t true anymore. At some point the behavior changed and I didn’t check it again. It used to be that, if you had an alias that was the same as the filename, in a file’s Outgoing links → Unlinked mentions it could show the same suggestion twice.
