I’ve been unable to enable dictation for macOS in obsidian notes. I’m partially disabled and unable to type at any speed so I need someway to dictate text.

Hi Chris, I just tested dictation on Obsidian 0.9.19 and 0.9.20 and 0.9.22. Dictation seems to be working fine for me. I’m on MacOS 10.15.7 (Catalina).

What version of MacOS?
What version of Obsidian?
Do you have any 3rd party plugins installed?
Pardon the basic question, but are you sure you’re in edit mode?

You got me curious, so I set it up on macOS Big Sur, but I recall Catalina worked too. It’s only a few mouse clicks to enable it in Accessibility options and keyboard shortcuts.

What version of macOS are you using?

I think my issue has to do with the use of the m1 chip. Everyone I’ve talked to seems to be able to use dictation but I haven’t confirmed that on the m1 MacBook Pro. I have the same problem with Evernote. Diction does work on native apps. Thanks so much for the help.
