The troubleshooting guide asks users to ‘make sure you are using the latest Obsidian version and that your installer is up-to-date.’
1.8.10 is about seven months old, so it might be worth updating that and then confirming for the team if the issue persists. FWIW, your text loads instantly on:
- Obsidian version: v1.10.3
- Installer version: v1.10.3
- Operating system: Darwin Kernel Version 25.1.0: Mon Oct 20 19:26:04 PDT 2025; root:xnu-12377.41.6~2/RELEASE_ARM64_T8122 25.1.0
That’s on the lowest-specced MacBook Air, not a high-end computer, so I think things should work for you
