Cursor not active when opening link under cursor in new tab/window/right

(The bug I just wanted to report is very similar so I will post it here first. Happy to remove and open separately if preferred.)

since the 1.8.4 update I have the following issue: When I open a WikiLink under cursor in a new tab/window/to the right, the cursor isn’t active anymore. Behavior looks just like in the screen recording above.

Whether or not the hotkey is used or the control panel does not matter.

If I use “Follow link under cursor” instead (which opens in the same tab), the bug does not appear. Behavior identical after restarting obsidian without any active community plugins. Also reproducible in the sandbox.

  • I am on a Mac as well
  • I have Alfred installed as well (however behavior is identical when it is quit)
  • I am on a QWERTZ MacBook.

I can reproduce the exact same behavior on my end. Also reproduces in sandbox.

will be fixed 1.8.6. No ETAs

Yea, I had this bug for a while.

One workaround is to cmd E twice to switch modes and the cursor will reappear.
