Cursor jumps to top or previous location when editing on iOS or iPadOS

Steps to reproduce

  • On iOS or iPadOS
  • Get a long note, that requires you to scroll
  • Scroll down a screen’s worth or more
  • Tap icon to enter edit mode
  • Tap a line

Did you follow the troubleshooting guide?

  • Happens in restricted mode with default theme

Expected result

  • Cursor goes to tap location

Actual result

  • Cursor jumps to top, or previous location from last time it was edited
  • This happens sometimes but not always, i can’t seem to figure out a pattern on when it happens.
  • It really breaks the flow, especially in longer files, where you have to find your place all over again.

Environment

Thanks. I am gonna need a file where this happens and possibly a screen recording (default theme/restricted mode).

Reporting back - this is now resolved.

I think it was an iOS bug that was fixed in 18.5

thanks for the update
