Creating links in pages to specific lines of other pages

What I’m trying to do

Hi all. I have been searching through the help sections, but I couldn’t identify what I am trying to do, I am new to Obsidian so I am at a very basic level.

I have created my Zettellkasten system and am currently using it to input my notes for my music production course. With so many subjects, it is easy to have things in different subjects linked and related to each other.

For example, I have a definition of Reverb on a glossary of terms page, then I have some use cases of reverb on another page, so on and so forth.

If I wanted to link from a new page, to a line of text or explanation (in this case we will just use reverb) how do I go about it?

Things I have tried

I have seen the use of the ^ icon, but I don’t really understand how to get that to work. When I type in the [[ brackets, then the word and then ^ i get no connections.

Any help would be great.

If you are linking to a heading or block in another note, start typing the note name first. [[ → start typing the note name (don’t hit enter) → type ^ when the correct note is highlighted → down arrow to the block you want to link to → enter.

Another option is typing [[^^ → start typing what you are looking for → down arrow → enter:

Note: this searches all blocks across your vault, so depending on the speed of your device, it may not be so great. I don’t use [[^^ on mobile.
