Use case or problem

Currently, creating a new note from a base creates it in a new tab. This makes it so that you cannot press the android back button to return to the base. This is different from the desktop version, where creating a new note from a base changes the current tab.

Proposed solution

Like the desktop version, it should open the new note in the same tab so the back button works. A popup like the desktop version would be nice too, but it’s not as important.

This used to be so annoying, currently I’m using “Always open in a new tab” option of plugin: obsidian-open-tab-settings by “jesse-r-s-hines” together with an personal adaptation of Disable Obsidian’s handling of Android’s back button and have it close the tab if there’s no more notes in the current tab’s history. It has its own perks but personally the overall navigation stopped being frustrating. Give it a try.
