What I’m trying to do
Recently, I have downloaded obsidian in my laptop, which I had already used before on a different device. But when I was about to set it up, neither of the community plugins nor themes have loaded.
Things I have tried
I have already searched about it and tried what others have worked for them. Also looked up the Help docs > extending obsidian
Here’s what I have tried:
- Trying VPN
- Changing to a different network
- Changing DNS
- Tried turning off the firewall (turned it on back again)
Sorry, no, I wasn’t able to. I am currently using Microsoft Edge as my browser.
As far as I know, that’s the page Obsidian is looking to when loading community plugins.
So it’s something about your network or provider that is blocking access, unfortunately.
This is the bot message in Discord when someone says dns help
We’ve had reports that an ISP in India has blocked GitHub at the DNS level, which Obsidian uses to update themes and plugins. You can fix it by switching to a different DNS server, then restarting Obsidian.
People in other countries have also experienced this.
I know you mentioned that you tried changing the DNS, but I’d try again with a few different servers.

Hello again, I have tried all of the suggested DNS. Sadly, I am still faced with the issue, are there any other protocols that I can proceed to?
