What I’m trying to do
I have selected text in Note A that I want to copy into Note B. When I hit the hotkey for it, I’ll be prompted to enter the title of the new file.
The new file will open and will show the selected text in the body. The YAML will be imported in from Note A. I want this feature because Note A will include info like the original creation date.
Bonus wish: back in Note A on a new line after the selected text, will be a link to the new file.
Things I have tried
Some parts of this are easy enough with Text Transporter. BUT there are two issues:
- The new note has to already exist.
- The YAML can’t be automatically copied over into the new note.
I’ve tried using Advanced URI + QuickAdd, as well as Advanced URI + Templater, but I get blank notes.
Note Extractor fails to work and creates blank files. I understand that because I use templates, it interferes with Note Extractor.
