Copy / Cut -> Paste not working

I read through the bug reports to find previous Copy / Cut and Paste issues with IOS with the reports closed in August 2021. I am using Windows 10 and Copy / Cut and Paste using the mouse R-click is not working in Obsidian 0.15.8.

Steps to reproduce

  1. Select text
  2. Mouse R-click Copy or Cut text
  3. Move to new location on page in editor
  4. Mouse R-click Paste

Expected result

The copied or cut text should be pasted in the new location.

Actual result

Nothing gets pasted with mouse R-click Paste.
However, if I use Ctrl-V, the copied text does paste.

Environment

  • Operating system: Windows 10 Home
  • Debug info:

Additional information

How does the mouse know to paste after a right click to copy/cut ? Ctl -c and ctl-V are keyboard shortcuts to copy and paste. does a drop down menu show when you r click the mouse? (Trying to figure out what changed) you didn’t say if it worked before the latest release.

works for me.

I have the same issue on Windows. Ctrl +V to paste works, but right-click menu paste returns nothing.

Ctrl +V tested before and after both succesfully paste my clipboard content

Post a screen recording of this happening in the sandbox vault.

Also attach debug info.

No need for screen recording I managed to reproduce.

@BarryPorter13
When I highlight text to copy and then R-click the mouse, a drop down menu appears that offers me the choices to Cut, Copy, Paste, etc.
I choose Copy and then move to where I want to Paste, R-click the mouse again, get the same menu, choose Paste but nothing gets pasted.
I know that it has been copied because as I mentioned if I then use keyboard Ctrl-V, the text is pasted.

Previously using the R-click mouse did work.

@WhiteNoise
I also tested in the the Sandbox Vault and the bug occurs there as well.

Sounds like WhiteNoise reproduced the bug.

Will be fixed in 0.15.9

For future reference, how do I do a screen record? Upon a quick Google search, they claim there’s a record option in developer console, but I couldn’t find that option in Obsidian’s developer console. Or do I use a 3rd party app?

use a screen recorder like screen2gif or sharex
