Copy all of a note including attachments and pasting in another location

What I’m trying to do

I would like to create a Help Article in Obsidian with several inline images for illustration. Later, I will need to copy this content and paste in another application. I am now doing a simple test by copying from Obsidian and pasting in Apple Notes. The text is copied, but the images only copy the Markdown. Is there a way to copy the entire note including the images themselves. I am a new user currently evaluating whether Obsidian would be a good tool for me, and the inability to easily copy and paste attachments would make it difficult to transition to this tool.

Things I have tried

I have tried copying and pasting and so I see the markdown. I have searched for other tools in the menus but did not see anything.

It sounds like plugins or additional workflows like with Alfred may be able to help, but I am not certain about this. It seems burdensome to have to use another tool, but I would be willing to try if it can provide a good solution.

I have checked the forum here and on Reddit, but did not find a question or answer to my specific concern.

Hello.

Does it work if you switch to reading mode and then select and copy the text and images?

I thought if you switched to Read mode, it would work. But I tested it, and I get broken images (instead of Markdown). Weird, I thought it used to work. :frowning:

One thing you can try is exporting to PDF. Then if you need it in Apple Notes, you can copy from the PDF. A bit of an annoying extra step, but it might give you a workaround for now.

There is also one or two Pandoc plugins, where it lets you export in various formats.

And then you could search plugins for “Export”. Export to HTML, Enhancing Export, Markdown export, etc. Some of those might do what you want. I hear you though. Seamless copy/paste would be ideal.

For me, images copy from read mode on iOS but not on macOS. Something awry? :person_shrugging:
