I’ve been using Obsidian for a couple of years and it’s been great. I love that I now have this amazing walled garden of information that works for me, but I keep coming across times where I just wish I could better integrate with the rest of my personal tech stack.
I use Hubspot as a CRM for my business, but I imagine that the same kind of workflow might work well for people who sync their Obsidian notes with Airtable, Sheets, or any other external database. There are so many brilliant folks here doing interesting things with automations so I figured I’d ask if anyone has done anything similar.
What I’m trying to do
In Hubspot I have records for People, Organizations, Deals, and Projects. In Obsidian, I also have top-level folders and custom note templates for People and Organizations. When I have meetings with people related to my work, I take notes for those meetings in Obsidian and then (if I remember and I think the notes would be helpful for my team to see) I copy those notes either in whole or in part into Hubspot. Ideally, I’d like to:
- Sync key properties between the two databases like email addresses, phone numbers, associated organizations.
- Automatically attach any notes in which I tag a person in Obsidian to that person’s Hubspot record as a note. To preserve some privacy, it would be extra cool if the sync only captured information in a certain part of the note.
Things I have tried
I’ve searched through the forum and the subreddit and the only thing I can find that’s relevant was a thread from a few years ago (that I apparently commented on!) but not solutions were offered.
