What I’m trying to do

I’m trying to get a custom domain working with Cloudflare. I’ve set a CNAME for changenode.com to point to publish-main.obsidian.md and a page rule for www to point to the main page.

I’m getting an error message for the main CNAME that it can’t be used on the zone apex but CNAME flattening is being used.

Right now when I visit my domain changenode.com I’m getting errors.

I’m getting an error message from Cloudflare that reads as follows:

Required steps to complete zone set-upHide

Add an A, AAAA, or CNAME record for www so that www.changenode.com will resolve.

Things I have tried

There’s no information on how to resolve this in the documentation or on the forum. Do I need to do something else to get this working?

Here is the page rule:

www.changenode.com/*

Forwarding URL (Status Code: 301 - Permanent Redirect, Url: $1 - ChangeNode)

To clarify, it looks like changenode.com is resolving correctly, but www.changenode.com fails on the redirect.

There is. It’s in the docs

After you’ve created the page rule, create a CNAME record for www.mysite.com just like you did for mysite.com.

Looks like it was some sort of DNS cache related thing. Cleared up by itself, presumably after a bunch of TTLs expired. Sigh.
